Industrialists Warn of Economic Peril Amid Costly Energy, Policy Chaos

Karachi industrialists are urging the government to address expensive energy, political instability, and erratic economic policies, which are severely impacting the manufacturing sector. The SITE Association of Industry (SAI) president stressed the need for lower energy tariffs, political stability, and consistent long-term policies to prevent industrial collapse and boost exports. They also called for a predictable tax regime and reduced interest rates to align with regional competitors. This severe economic pressure could weaken the PKR against the USD and increase local demand for gold as a hedge against instability.
