ECC Clears Rs380bn Grants for Water Projects, Armed Forces

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has sanctioned supplementary grants totaling Rs380 billion, with Rs275 billion allocated to five major water projects like Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams facing financial constraints. An additional Rs84 billion was approved for the armed forces, covering operational requirements and security priorities. The ECC also allowed continued gas supply to two Punjab-based fertiliser plants and restricted camera-enabled smart glass imports. While significant, these fiscal approvals are part of routine budget management and unlikely to directly impact gold or USD/PKR rates in the short term.
