PM Shehbaz Approves TDAP Reforms to Boost Pakistan's Exports
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved a comprehensive plan to modernise the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), aiming to significantly boost national exports and facilitate Pakistani products in international markets. The reforms include limiting TDAP's scope to eight core functions, restructuring its board, improving regional networks, and integrating digital platforms and AI. A phased 12-month roadmap targets full implementation by mid-next year, with a focus on measurable performance indicators and transparent, merit-based professional induction. While these reforms are positive for Pakistan's long-term economic stability and potential PKR strengthening, their immediate impact on gold or currency rates is not expected to be significant for short-term trading decisions.
