India's HPCL Faces Tanker Shortage Amid Persistent Hormuz Risks
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is encountering difficulties securing tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz and load crude from the Gulf. Chairman Vikas Kaushal noted that shipowners are hesitant to brave the region due to ongoing risks, despite crude flows nearing pre-war levels. This logistical challenge suggests persistent geopolitical concerns impacting oil transportation. Such shipping bottlenecks could contribute to higher crude oil prices, potentially influencing global inflation and indirectly affecting gold prices and the USD/PKR rate in Pakistan.
