Govt Hikes Petrol by Rs1.63, Diesel by Rs1.55 Per Litre
The Ministry of Energy announced a hike in petroleum product prices, effective July 29. Petrol is up by Rs1.63 per litre, reaching Rs335.81, while High Speed Diesel increased by Rs1.55 per litre to Rs388.38. These adjustments, based on OGRA's revised ex-depot prices, will remain in effect until tomorrow. Such fuel price increases typically contribute to inflationary pressures in Pakistan, potentially influencing the USD/PKR exchange rate and local gold demand as a hedge against inflation.

وزارت توانائی نے 29 جولائی سے پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ پیٹرول کی قیمت 1.63 روپے فی لیٹر بڑھ کر 335.81 روپے ہو گئی ہے، جبکہ ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل کی قیمت 1.55 روپے فی لیٹر اضافے کے ساتھ 388.38 روپے پر پہنچ گئی ہے۔ اوگرا کی نظرثانی شدہ قیمتوں کے مطابق یہ نئی قیمتیں کل تک نافذ العمل رہیں گی۔ ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں یہ اضافہ پاکستان میں مہنگائی کے دباؤ کو بڑھا سکتا ہے، جو ممکنہ طور پر USD/PKR کی شرح تبادلہ اور مہنگائی کے خلاف ہیج کے طور پر مقامی سونے کی طلب کو متاثر کر سکتا ہے۔
