US Oil Rigs Rise by 3, Overall Count Stable at 588
Baker Hughes reported Friday that the total number of active oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States held steady at 588 this week, up 49 from a year ago. Active oil rigs specifically rose by 3 to 454, marking an increase of 43 year-over-year, while gas rigs decreased by 3 to 124. This marginal increase in oil drilling activity could slightly ease supply concerns, potentially influencing crude oil prices and, indirectly, inflation expectations and the Pakistani Rupee.
