US Crude Inventories See Surprise 9M Barrel Build, Exceeding Expectations
The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a substantial 9.072 million barrel increase in U.S. crude oil inventories for the week ending August 7, defying analyst expectations of a 500,000-barrel draw. This surprise build, driven by higher crude imports, follows a 2.69 million barrel rise the previous week. Such a significant inventory increase typically signals weaker demand or oversupply, potentially putting downward pressure on international crude oil prices. A sustained drop in crude prices could ease global inflationary concerns, which might indirectly temper gold's appeal as an inflation hedge and potentially strengthen the PKR against the USD.

امریکی پٹرولیم انسٹی ٹیوٹ (API) نے رپورٹ کیا ہے کہ 7 اگست کو ختم ہونے والے ہفتے میں امریکہ کے خام تیل کے ذخائر میں 9.072 ملین بیرل کا نمایاں اضافہ ہوا، جبکہ تجزیہ کاروں کو 500,000 بیرل کی کمی کی توقع تھی۔ درآمدات میں اضافے کی وجہ سے ہونے والا یہ غیر متوقع اضافہ پچھلے ہفتے کے 2.69 ملین بیرل کے اضافے کے بعد آیا ہے۔ ذخائر میں اس بڑے اضافے سے عالمی خام تیل کی قیمتوں پر نیچے کا دباؤ پڑ سکتا ہے۔ خام تیل کی قیمتوں میں مسلسل کمی عالمی افراط زر کے خدشات کو کم کر سکتی ہے، جس سے بالواسطہ طور پر سونے کی افراط زر سے بچاؤ کی اپیل کم ہو سکتی ہے اور ممکنہ طور پر پاکستانی روپے امریکی ڈالر کے مقابلے میں مضبوط ہو سکتا ہے۔
