Petroleum Dealers Call Off Strike as Govt Approves Margin Hike
The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers’ Association (PPDA) called off its planned strike after the government approved a Rs1.34 per litre increase in dealer margins, bringing the total to Rs10 per litre. This decision, confirmed by the finance ministry, averts an indefinite shutdown of petrol pumps across the country. The PPDA had demanded an eight per cent margin increase and issued a 72-hour ultimatum. This move helps maintain economic stability by ensuring fuel supply, potentially offering minor support to the Pakistani Rupee by preventing supply chain disruptions.

پاکستان پیٹرولیم ڈیلرز ایسوسی ایشن (پی پی ڈی اے) نے حکومت کی جانب سے ڈیلرز کے مارجن میں 1.34 روپے فی لیٹر اضافے کی منظوری کے بعد اپنی ہڑتال کی کال واپس لے لی ہے۔ اس اضافے سے فی لیٹر مارجن 10 روپے ہو گیا ہے، جس کی تصدیق وزارت خزانہ نے بھی کی ہے۔ اس فیصلے سے ملک بھر میں پیٹرول پمپس کی غیر معینہ مدت تک بندش کا خطرہ ٹل گیا ہے۔ یہ اقدام ایندھن کی فراہمی کو یقینی بنا کر معاشی استحکام برقرار رکھنے میں مدد دیتا ہے، جو ممکنہ طور پر سپلائی چین میں رکاوٹوں کو روک کر پاکستانی روپے کو معمولی سہارا دے سکتا ہے۔
