Pakistan's Current Account Deficit Narrows to $328mn in July 2026

Pakistan recorded a current account deficit of $328 million in July 2026, a notable improvement from $814 million in June 2026 and $529 million in July 2025, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data. This narrower deficit was supported by a 17% month-on-month increase in goods exports, reaching $3 billion, the highest in 19 months, while imports remained stable at $6.2 billion. A sustained reduction in the current account deficit could strengthen the Pakistani Rupee, potentially influencing local gold and silver prices.
