Govt Adjusts Fuel Prices: Petrol Up Rs2.97, Diesel Down Rs32.63
The government announced new fuel prices effective August 20, increasing petrol by Rs2.97 per litre to Rs337.51 and cutting high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs32.63 per litre to Rs363.06. This adjustment follows earlier announcements of daily price revisions due to international market fluctuations. The petrol hike affects private transport, while the substantial HSD reduction benefits heavy transport and power generation. These routine domestic fuel price adjustments are unlikely to directly or significantly impact gold or USD/PKR rates.

حکومت نے 20 اگست سے نافذ ہونے والی نئی ایندھن کی قیمتوں کا اعلان کیا ہے، جس کے تحت پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 2.97 روپے فی لیٹر اضافہ ہو کر 337.51 روپے ہو گئی ہے۔ ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت میں نمایاں کمی کی گئی ہے، جو 32.63 روپے فی لیٹر کم ہو کر 363.06 روپے پر آ گئی ہے۔ یہ ایڈجسٹمنٹ بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں اتار چڑھاؤ کے بعد یومیہ قیمتوں کے تعین کے فیصلے کے مطابق ہے۔ پیٹرول کی قیمت میں اضافے کے باوجود، ڈیزل کی بڑی کمی سے ٹرانسپورٹ اور بجلی کے شعبے کو کچھ ریلیف مل سکتا ہے، تاہم ان گھریلو قیمتوں میں تبدیلی کا سونے یا امریکی ڈالر/پاکستانی روپے کی شرح پر براہ راست اور نمایاں اثر متوقع نہیں۔
