A KATI delegation will attend Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta, aiming to expand bilateral trade and reduce Pakistan's import dependence. The current $2.8 billion trade deficit with Indonesia, largely due to palm oil imports, was a key focus. Efforts will concentrate on increasing B2B linkages and exploring new sectors like engineering and pharmaceuticals to achieve a more sustainable partnership. While a long-term initiative, success could gradually improve Pakistan's trade balance and foreign exchange position, offering indirect support to the PKR.
