Pakistan Bonds Attract $171M Foreign Inflows in 50 Days, Boosts Sentiment
Pakistan's domestic bonds saw significant foreign investment, with $171 million flowing into government securities, including $126.9 million in T-bills and $44 million in PIBs, during the first 50 days of the current fiscal year. An additional $82.8 million was invested in equities, bringing total inflows to $253 million against $214 million in outflows. This renewed interest is attributed to attractive yields around 12% compared to international markets, with the return of investment to long-term PIBs seen as a positive sign. These substantial foreign inflows could bolster Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves and potentially support the Rupee, influencing local gold prices.
