Pakistan Hikes Fuel Prices Amid Global Oil Surge, Middle East Tensions
The government raised petrol to Rs380.24/litre and HSD to Rs409.42/litre, effective Tuesday, September 15. This decision follows a surge in global oil prices, driven by renewed hostilities in the Middle East, with the government continuing to levy significant taxes. While a relief scheme for small vehicle owners was announced, these increases are likely to contribute to domestic inflation, which could indirectly affect the Pakistani Rupee's stability.

حکومت نے 15 ستمبر بروز منگل سے پیٹرول کی قیمت 4.42 روپے اضافے کے بعد 380.24 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت 6.10 روپے اضافے کے بعد 409.42 روپے فی لیٹر مقرر کر دی ہے۔ یہ اضافہ عالمی تیل کی قیمتوں میں اضافے اور مشرق وسطیٰ میں جاری کشیدگی کی وجہ سے کیا گیا ہے۔ اگرچہ چھوٹی گاڑیوں کے مالکان کے لیے ریلیف اسکیم کا اعلان کیا گیا ہے، تاہم یہ قیمتیں ملکی مہنگائی میں مزید اضافہ کر سکتی ہیں، جس سے پاکستانی روپے پر بالواسطہ دباؤ پڑ سکتا ہے۔
