US Crude Stocks Rise as Gasoline, Distillate Inventories Continue to Fall
The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a 1.786 million barrel rise in US crude oil inventories for the week ending September 18, following a substantial 7.14 million barrel increase the prior week. Despite this, commercial crude inventories have fallen by 39 million barrels over the last 23 weeks, though annual figures remain up due to Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) draws. Gasoline and distillate stockpiles continued to decline. This mixed inventory data could lead to moderate fluctuations in global crude oil prices, which in turn can influence Pakistan's import bill and broader economic sentiment, indirectly affecting the Rupee.
