🌍 World Gold Stocks Energy Impact on Gold

Australian Shares Fall on Oil-Driven Inflation Fears, Gold Miners Decline

Friday, 25 September 2026 · 11:29 AM PKT · PakGold News Desk · 👁 14

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index fell 0.5%, tracking a fourth consecutive weekly decline, driven by renewed inflation worries stemming from Middle East tensions pushing oil prices above $100 a barrel. Persistent inflation pressures are leading markets to price in another rate hike, potentially to a 15-year high of 4.60%. Gold miners Northern Star Resources and Evolution Mining also saw declines of 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively. This global inflation pressure and rising energy costs could support gold as an inflation hedge, but also signal tighter monetary policies which may cap gains.
