لاہور ہائی کورٹ نے فیصلہ دیا ہے کہ منی لانڈرنگ ایک الگ جرم ہے، جس سے ایف بی آر کو انکم ٹیکس کے متعلقہ واجبات کے حتمی تعین کا انتظار کیے بغیر اینٹی منی لانڈرنگ ایکٹ 2010 کے تحت تحقیقات اور قانونی کارروائی شروع کرنے کی اجازت مل گئی ہے۔ اس فیصلے نے ایف بی آر کے ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل آف انٹیلی جنس اینڈ انویسٹی گیشن، ان لینڈ ریونیو کے دائرہ اختیار کو چیلنج کرنے والی درخواستوں کو مسترد کر دیا ہے۔ یہ فیصلہ غیر قانونی مالیاتی بہاؤ اور غیر اعلانیہ دولت کے خلاف ایف بی آر کی صلاحیت کو مضبوط کرتا ہے۔ مالیاتی نگرانی میں یہ اضافہ پاکستان کی معیشت میں زیادہ شفافیت لا سکتا ہے، جو طویل مدت میں روپے کے استحکام میں معاون ثابت ہو سکتا ہے۔
