Dar: Makkah Pact Defence Meeting Soon Amid Regional Tensions
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the Strategic Political Defence Committee (SPDC) under the Makkah Agreement (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye) will meet soon in Riyadh to review regional security, especially developments in Saudi Arabia. Dar also warned that disruption around the Strait of Hormuz could hit global energy supplies and raise petroleum prices, citing Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. He highlighted Pakistan's successful mediation between the US and Iran, bringing them to the table in Islamabad for the first time in 47 years. Such geopolitical developments, particularly those affecting oil supplies, could influence crude oil prices, potentially impacting safe-haven demand for gold and the USD/PKR rate in Pakistan.

ڈپٹی وزیراعظم اسحاق ڈار نے بتایا کہ پاکستان، سعودی عرب اور ترکیہ کے مکہ معاہدے کے تحت سٹریٹیجک پولیٹیکل ڈیفنس کمیٹی (SPDC) کا اجلاس جلد ریاض میں ہوگا تاکہ علاقائی سیکیورٹی، خصوصاً سعودی عرب کی صورتحال کا جائزہ لیا جا سکے۔ دار نے آبنائے ہرمز میں رکاوٹ سے عالمی توانائی سپلائی اور پٹرولیم قیمتوں میں اضافے کا بھی انتباہ کیا، حوثی حملوں کا حوالہ دیا۔ انہوں نے پاکستان کی ایران اور امریکہ کے درمیان 47 سال بعد پہلی بار کامیاب ثالثی کو بھی اجاگر کیا۔ ایسے جغرافیائی سیاسی واقعات، خاص طور پر تیل کی سپلائی پر اثر انداز ہونے والے، خام تیل کی قیمتوں کو متاثر کر سکتے ہیں، جس سے سونے کی محفوظ پناہ گاہ کی طلب اور پاکستان میں USD/PKR کی شرح پر اثر پڑ سکتا ہے۔
