Govt Hikes Petrol by Rs2.10, Diesel by Re0.30 Amid Rising Global Oil Prices
The government has raised petrol prices by Rs2.10 to Rs392.76 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Re0.30 to Rs399.64 per litre, effective from October 3 to 5. These adjustments come as the government continues to levy substantial taxes on fuel, Rs114/litre on petrol and Rs100/litre on diesel. The move reflects rising international oil prices, influenced by the ongoing Middle East conflict, which previously saw petrol and HSD peak at Rs458.41 and Rs520.35 respectively in April. Such fuel price hikes typically fuel domestic inflation, potentially pressuring the Pakistani Rupee and indirectly impacting local gold prices.

حکومت نے پیٹرول کی قیمت 2.10 روپے بڑھا کر 392.76 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت 0.30 روپے بڑھا کر 399.64 روپے فی لیٹر کر دی ہے۔ یہ نئی قیمتیں 3 اکتوبر سے 5 اکتوبر تک نافذ العمل ہوں گی۔ حکومت پیٹرول پر 114 روپے اور ڈیزل پر 100 روپے فی لیٹر ٹیکس اور ڈیوٹی عائد کر رہی ہے۔ یہ اضافہ عالمی تیل کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں کی عکاسی کرتا ہے، جو مشرق وسطیٰ کے جاری تنازع سے متاثر ہیں۔ ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ عام طور پر ملکی مہنگائی کو بڑھاتا ہے، جس سے پاکستانی روپے پر دباؤ پڑ سکتا ہے اور بالواسطہ طور پر سونے کی مقامی قیمتیں متاثر ہو سکتی ہیں۔
