Govt Hikes Petrol Price by Rs1.82, Cuts Diesel by Re0.91
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised petroleum product prices under the government's mechanism, linking them to international market changes, Platts rates, and other costs. Petrol now costs Rs396.65 per litre and diesel Rs394.94, effective from October 8, 2026. These routine adjustments reflect global crude price movements and will contribute to the general inflation outlook in Pakistan, which could indirectly influence SBP's monetary policy considerations.

آئل اینڈ گیس ریگولیٹری اتھارٹی (اوگرا) نے حکومتی پیٹرولیم قیمتوں کے طریقہ کار کے تحت پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں پر نظر ثانی کی ہے۔ یہ نظر ثانی شدہ قیمتیں بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں پیٹرول اور ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں تبدیلیوں سے منسلک ہیں۔ پیٹرول کی نئی قیمت 396.65 روپے اور ڈیزل کی 394.94 روپے فی لیٹر ہے، جو 8 اکتوبر 2026 سے نافذ العمل ہے۔ یہ معمول کی ایڈجسٹمنٹ ملکی افراط زر پر اثر انداز ہو سکتی ہے، جو بالواسطہ طور پر اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان کی مانیٹری پالیسی پر غور کو متاثر کر سکتی ہے۔
