Pakistan adjusts fuel prices: Petrol down Rs3.63, HSD up Re0.31 for Oct 16
Effective October 16, petrol will retail at Rs390.23 per litre after a Rs3.63 reduction, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will cost Rs396.96 per litre following a Re0.31 increase. The government maintains Rs114/litre in taxes on petrol and Rs100/litre on HSD, as fuel prices continue to be influenced by global oil volatility stemming from the US-Iran conflict, which previously saw petrol peak at Rs458.41 and HSD at Rs520.35 on April 3. While routine fuel price adjustments typically have limited direct impact on gold or currency markets, the underlying global oil price volatility and Pakistan's economic response could indirectly influence inflation and the PKR's stability.

16 اکتوبر سے پیٹرول 3.63 روپے سستا ہو کر 390.23 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) 0.31 روپے مہنگا ہو کر 396.96 روپے فی لیٹر دستیاب ہوگا۔ حکومت پیٹرول پر 114 روپے اور ڈیزل پر 100 روپے فی لیٹر ٹیکس برقرار رکھے ہوئے ہے، کیونکہ ایندھن کی قیمتیں امریکہ-ایران تنازعہ سے پیدا ہونے والی عالمی تیل کی قیمتوں میں اتار چڑھاؤ سے متاثر ہوتی ہیں، جس کے نتیجے میں 3 اپریل کو پیٹرول 458.41 روپے اور ڈیزل 520.35 روپے کی بلند ترین سطح پر پہنچ گیا تھا۔ اگرچہ معمول کی ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں ایڈجسٹمنٹ کا سونے یا کرنسی کی مارکیٹوں پر براہ راست محدود اثر ہوتا ہے، تاہم عالمی تیل کی قیمتوں میں اتار چڑھاؤ اور پاکستان کے معاشی ردعمل سے بالواسطہ طور پر افراط زر اور روپے کی استحکام متاثر ہو سکتا ہے۔
