Pakistan Central Bank Inflation Impact on Gold

Pakistan Auto Loans Hit Rs407bn; SBP Rate Hike Possible Amid Inflation

Sunday, 18 October 2026 · 07:40 AM PKT · PakGold News Desk · 👁 19

Pakistan's outstanding auto loans reached Rs407 billion in September, marking the 22nd consecutive monthly increase despite a 12% year-on-year sales slump. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data shows this rise from Rs393.3 billion in August. While the SBP maintained its policy rate at 11.5% in September, rising KIBOR and inflationary pressures suggest a potential 50 basis points rate hike. This indicates tightening monetary conditions and could influence the Pakistani Rupee and local gold market dynamics.
