Peshawar Sees Mixed Food Price Trends; Chicken, LPG Up, Some Staples Stable
A recent Business Recorder survey in Peshawar noted a mixed trend in essential food item prices. Live chicken surged to Rs445/kg from Rs405, and LPG increased by Rs150 to Rs500-550/kg. While cow meat prices remained high above official rates, sugar and flour prices were stable, though retailers often charged more than wholesale rates. This localized inflation data offers insight into consumer purchasing power but is unlikely to directly trigger significant shifts in Pakistan's gold or currency markets.
