MYC Urges Wider Defence Pact, Saudi-Yemen Dialogue Amid Regional Tensions

The Milli Yakjehti Council Pakistan expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and welcomed the Saudi Arabia-Pakistan-Turkiye defence agreement, urging its expansion to include Iran and Egypt for Muslim unity. The council also called for diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, stressing regional peace requires cooperation among Pakistan, Iran, China, and Afghanistan. Domestically, it urged abolishing petroleum levy and implementing interest-free banking to counter economic hardship. This geopolitical focus, coupled with domestic economic calls, could influence investor sentiment regarding regional stability and Pakistan's economic outlook, potentially impacting gold and USD/PKR rates.
