APTMA: EFS Reforms Boost Pakistan's Net Textile Exports by USD 1 Billion

Thursday, 29 October 2026 · 05:12 AM PKT · PakGold News Desk · 👁 14

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) praised the government for Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) reforms, which led to a USD 930 million improvement in net textile exports to USD 11.48 billion in FY2026. This was achieved by a significant decline in textile imports, especially cotton and cotton yarn, while gross exports remained stable at USD 17.9 billion. The reforms reduced import dependence and supported domestic value addition. This positive development in foreign exchange earnings could contribute to greater stability for the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar, potentially influencing local gold prices.
