PD Revises Petrol Pricing Mechanism Amid Geopolitical Tensions
The new mechanism, approved by the Federal Cabinet, links import prices to actual PSO cargo costs and fixes refinery premiums at pre-war levels for 30 days. The differential will be surrendered as Petroleum Levy, ensuring benefits are passed to consumers via reduced petrol prices. This aims to stabilize domestic fuel costs, potentially offering some relief to inflation and indirectly influencing the PKR's stability.

وفاقی کابینہ سے منظور شدہ نئے طریقہ کار کے تحت، درآمدی قیمتیں پی ایس او کے اصل کارگو لاگت سے منسلک ہوں گی اور ریفائنریوں کے پریمیم 30 دن کے لیے جنگ سے پہلے کی سطح پر مقرر کیے جائیں گے۔ فرق کو پیٹرولیم لیوی کے طور پر جمع کیا جائے گا، جس کا فائدہ صارفین کو پیٹرول کی قیمتوں میں کمی کی صورت میں ملے گا۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد مقامی ایندھن کی قیمتوں کو مستحکم کرنا ہے، جس سے مہنگائی میں کچھ ریلیف مل سکتا ہے اور بالواسطہ طور پر روپے کی قدر پر اثر پڑ سکتا ہے۔
