Govt to Boost Power Supply in KP High-Loss Areas, Reduce Load-Shedding

The federal government has agreed to increase electricity supply hours and reduce load-shedding in high-loss areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), aiming to provide relief to consumers and improve the recovery of outstanding electricity bills. This decision, made at a high-level meeting, expects consumers to clear their dues and support efforts against power theft for sustainable supply. The Transformer-Based Load Management System (APMS) will also be implemented to replace feeder-wide shutdowns with targeted load management. While a positive step for regional stability, this development is unlikely to significantly impact gold or USD/PKR rates in the short term.
