NA Summons Finance Sec, SBP Governor Over Rs343bn TCP Dues
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce will summon the Finance Secretary and SBP Governor to address Rs342.947 billion owed to the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP), including Rs265.719 billion in accumulated bank markup. Proposed solutions include federal budgetary allocation or issuing Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs) to banks to settle liabilities. This significant fiscal challenge, if not resolved effectively, could pressure government finances and potentially impact the stability of the Pakistani Rupee, influencing local gold prices.

قومی اسمبلی کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے تجارت نے ٹریڈنگ کارپوریشن آف پاکستان (TCP) کے 342.947 ارب روپے کے بقایا جات، جس میں 265.719 ارب روپے کا جمع شدہ بینک مارک اپ شامل ہے، کے حل کے لیے فنانس سیکرٹری اور اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان (SBP) کے گورنر کو طلب کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ ان واجبات کو وفاقی بجٹ سے یا پاکستان انویسٹمنٹ بانڈز (PIBs) کے ذریعے حل کرنے کی تجاویز زیر غور ہیں۔ اس بڑے مالیاتی چیلنج کا حل نہ ہونے کی صورت میں حکومتی مالیات پر دباؤ پڑ سکتا ہے اور پاکستانی روپے کی استحکام متاثر ہو سکتا ہے، جس کا اثر مقامی سونے کی قیمتوں پر بھی پڑے گا۔
